IMT (Individual Movement Techniques)

If you all haven't already noticed, the army loves to use acronyms. I have been learning an entire second language in the last week. Today I learned the basics of IMT (running around and crawling in the sand and dirt), which includes low and high crawl and 3-5 second rushes. The low crawl was the most difficult...you lie flat on the ground and basically slither like a snake with your head in the dirt. The next is high crawl, where you move on your hands and knees and can look ahead were you are going. In the 3-5 second rushes, you start lying prone on the ground in firing position, then jump up and run for a few seconds then lie back down. I put all these skills together on a obstacle course which was about 50 yards long, while carrying an M16. Hooah! I also had to crawl under constantine wire and flip over a very small wall. This was definately the most aerobic exercise I have done in a very long time. I was really sucking wind by the end of the course. Everything is extra difficult at the high altitude in El Paso.

Now for the definition of Hooah. (Who-a) adj. (slang used by soldiers) referring to or meaning anything and everything except "no."
